A terrific opportunity presented by the geography of Costa Rica is the chance to quickly travel from ocean to ocean. Start with a transfer through the banana and pineapple plantations of the warm Atlantic lowlands, then board a boat and travel to Tortuguero National Park – Costa Rica’s “little Amazon”. Explore the canals and shores of the area with a naturalist guide as you explore the abundant wildlife of the area.
Fly back to San Jose and visit the Poas Volcano, then on to the cloud forest of Monteverde. Here you’ll tour the famous reserve, as well as several local enterprises such as a cheese factory, sugar mill and learn about the area’s most important agricultural product—coffee.
Next, drive through savannas to the dry Guanacaste region to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches, tropical waters and Pacific sunsets of Tamarindo. A special visit here is included to a 5000 acre private wetlands reserve. A free day at the beach (or doing other activities) tops of your discovery of lovely Costa Rica!
