The Galapagos Islands National Park Rules

The Galapagos Islands - National park Rules

  1. Please do not disturb or remove any native plant, rock or animal.
  2. Please be careful not to transport any live material to the islands or from island to island. Each one has its unique fauna and flora and introductions can quickly destroy their balance.
  3. Please do not touch or handle animals. Even the fearless animals of the Galapagos require a certain distance, and do not like to be encroached upon. Please respect this distance as attempting to touch them will disturb them.
  4. Please do not feed the animals. This can be dangerous to you, and it will also affect the social structure and natural behavior of the animals.
  5. Please do not startle or chase any animal from its resting or nesting spot
  6. Please stay on the marked trails. Many people visit the islands and it is important that people do not damage vegetation or cause erosion.
  7. Please do not leave any litter on the islands, or throw any overboard.
  8. Please do not buy any souvenirs made from native Galapagos products, (except for wood) as this encourages the exploitation of these resources. Especially do not buy sea lion teeth, black coral, or tortoise / turtle shell products.
  9. Do not smoke on the islands
  10. Do not hesitate to show your conservationist attitude.

How to design a fabulous Galapagos Adventure:
  1. Consult our Galapagos Islands Boat & Tour Index to select the style of travel that suits you best. Click on the boat/hotel name for photos, a complete itinerary, boat specs and travel details.
  2. Choose a hotel & some of our great sightseeing offerings from the Galapagos Islands-Hotel & Tour Add-ons.
  3. Add together your selected Galapagos boat/hotel to your choice of tours plus any extra hotel nights. Remember, these activities are just a sampling of some of our shorter tours. For more ideas and longer itineraries, visit our Ecuador Destination Profile & Ecuador Trip Index.
  4. Contact Latin American Escapes for advice and to make all the arrangements. You can reach us via e-mail at travel@latinamericanescapes.com, or call 1-800-510-5999.
