M/S Cachalote Itinerary: 8 Days--Wednesday to Wednesday

  • Wednesday:  Arrival Baltra Airport.  Plazas Island
  • Thursday:  Santa Cruz-Charles Darwin Research Station, Pto. Ayora & Highlands
  • Friday:  Espanola-Gardner Bay.   Espanola-Pta Suarez
  • Saturday: Floreana-Pta Cormorant.  Floreana-Post Office Bay
  • Sunday:  Isabela-Pta Moreno.  Isabela-Elizabeth Bay
  • Monday:  Isabela-Urbina Bay.  Fernandina-Pta Espinoza  
  • Tuesday:  Santiago-Pto Egas.  Bartolome Island     
  • Wednesday:  Santa Cruz-Black Turtle Cove. Departure Baltra Airport

2008 Rates per person/based on double cabin:  $2419

Low Season:  Discount rates apply to May1 -June 15; September 1-October 31 and December 1-7 sailings: $2177

Children’s Policy:

  • 11 years and younger 40% discount off the adult fare.
  • One discount allowed per adult fare paid
  • Minimum age is 7, unless boat is chartered and special permission obtained.

Share Policy:  Single travelers may request “same-sex share cabin” basis and pay the listed per person/double rate. No surcharge will be applied if a room-mate is not found. Single cabins may be limited, or blacked out for heavy travel dates.

Single Policy:  Add 50% to applicable share basis/cabin rate

Diving:  For experienced certified divers only who would like to include a few dives during their Galapagos cruise. Dive excursions are offered through a local diving company for up to four dives per 8 day itinerary. Two dives are near to Santa Cruz Islan, requiring a minimum of two divers at $200 per per person. Two dives are also located near Floreana Island, requiring a minimum of four divers at $200 per person. Includes complete diving equipment (wetsuit, belt, weights, regulator, BCD, masks, snorkel, fins, tanks, etc), drinks, snacks, and transportation to and from the Cachalote.

Payments on board:  Cash or travelers checks only accepted. A tab is run during the trip, payment handled on the last day.

Galapagos National Park Tax: A park fee of $100 per person will be charged to all passengers. Children under 12 years by $50.

Migration Control Card: A $10 per person fee is charged to all passengers. This card is issued when you depart for Galapagos, and you will need to show it prior to your return flight to the mainland.

Airline tickets:  You will need to consider airline tickets from Quito (or Guayaquil) to Galapagos and return. These flights are automatically reserved with your tour reservation. Low season rates are valid between May 1 to June 14, and Sep 15 to Oct 31.

  • Quito departures:  High Season $425; Low Season $370
  • Guayaquil departures:  High Season $375; Low Season $330
  • Children under 12 discount:  approximately 50%
